Hey all,
My friend Andy wants to play two shows here in Pittsburgh on some Friday and Saturday nights in mid-February. He wants suggestions of venues and bands to play with. Any suggestions (Brendan I'm looking in your direction)? Heres a video I really like of him at an open-mic that he runs

Hmmm, this is a good question. I don't know how easy/hard it is to "get booked" at the Brillobox but I think that's a sweet venue to play at and be seen at and watch at, now transitionally ending this sentence with a non-prepositional phrase.
ReplyDeleteHe might have luck with the Club Cafe (South Side) or Gooski's (Polish Hill). Also, I saw this particular article on the City Paper's website today (how fortuitous!) and it might work, although they specifically advertise that their shows are free, so I'm not sure how that works . . .

Also, Howler's (Bloomfield) might hire. All of these places typically involve 3 bands per show night, but it appears that there is no shortage of bands willing to play at any given venue. If anything, just call and ask and see what they say.
New thought of Lisa's: Lava Lounge (South Side).
